In the midst of shifts in the political sphere, the state of healthcare in the United States remains in flux. At the same time, trends such as the consolidation of hospitals and the rise of urgent care are revolutionizing the delivery of health care. Many students are unsure of what to expect when they become health professionals.

This year’s panel will feature prominent speakers from the academic, private, and public sectors.They will speak about critical issues in the space, including policy options for an ACA replacement, revolutionary use of big data and technology, and implications for future healthcare professionals. Sherry Glied, Ph.D., Dean of the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and architect of the Affordable Care Act. Dean Glied was Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at the Department of Health and Human Services under the Obama administration and previously served as Senior Economist for health care and labor market policy on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers.

Richard J. Donoghue, Senior Vice President for Strategy, Planning and Business Development at NYU Langone Medical Center, is responsible for the strategic initiatives of NYU Langone which includes both NYU Hospitals Center and NYU School of Medicine.

Dr. Richard Park, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of CityMD, an emergency medicine physician, one of the largest groups of urgent care clinics in the Tri-State area and the United States.

Vivek Garipalli, CEO and Co-Founder of Clover Health, a data-driven health insurance start-up that has raised nearly $300 million in investments.

Robin Shah, Head of Marketing and Strategy at Flatiron Health, whose mission is to serve cancer centers and patients with their industry-leading electronic medical record software.
